Meet Our Founder
"Rod Jackson, a passionate golf enthusiast, discovered his love for the sport as a teenager through The First Tee of Atlanta. His dedication and talent propelled him to compete at the collegiate level on the men’s golf team at Alabama A&M University. After earning his degree, Rod pursued his ambition to become a PGA Professional through the PGA of America, a decision that shaped his distinguished career in the golf industry.
Relocating from Atlanta, Georgia, to Scottsdale, Arizona, Rod joined Troon North, Arizona’s top-ranked public golf course, managed by Troon Golf, the world’s leading golf management company. There, he honed his expertise in golf operations and instruction while inspiring young athletes as a junior golf coach with The First Tee of Phoenix.
Driven by a commitment to share his passion for golf, Rod founded the HBCU Golf Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to developing young golfers, facilitating recruitment, and securing college golf scholarship opportunities. With extensive industry connections and a deep commitment to mentorship, Rod is devoted to shaping the next generation of golfers through transformative and memorable golf experiences."
